Alumina-graphite S.E.N., Ladle Shroud, Tundish Stopper Rod, Pressure Casting Tubes (ISOTEX-GA)

Alumina-graphite S.E.N., Ladle Shroud, Tundish Stopper Rod, Pressure Casting Tubes (ISOTEX-GA)

The ladle shroud is used to prevent the steel flow from splashing, from being oxidized and to ensure smooth casting. For snorkels we have developed a multi-layer structure for mold powder resistance and an air gap structure permitting gas blowing. These features result in casting of higher quality steel, and longer refractory life.

Magnesia Graphite Brick (MCTEX)

TYK Corporation has developed a complete line of Magnesia Graphite for use in the Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Furnaces and the Basic Oxygen Furnace. TYK AMERICA, INC. manufactures this line of refractories at its plant in Large, Pa.

Alumina Graphite Brick (ACTEX)

The push for cleaner steel led to the use of de-sulfurizing agents in the iron ladles. Traditional refractories exhibited extremely rapid erosion when exposed to the conditions present during de-sulfurization. ACTEX was developed for this application and has had outstanding success in these conditions. ACTEX is also finding increased applications in steel ladles where a brick with high resistance to spalling and impact is required.

Alumina Magnesia Graphite Brick (SPNEX)

The increasing use of the ladle furnace for the refining of steel has placed unparalleled demands on the ladle refractories. SPNEX Alumina magnesia graphite brick are used in in steel ladles for wall & bottom linings.

Low Cement Castables (LEOCAST)

TYK Corporation leads in the development of low cement castable that can be used in direct contact with molten steel, iron, or slag. TYK AMERICA, INC. manufactures a wide range of these castables and can supply them in either the bulk form for casting in situ or as a precast and dried shapes.

Lance Pipes (LPTEX)

Refractory lance pipes are used to inject powder and/or inert gas into the steel ladle in order to upgrade the steel quality and to maintain thermal control. The lance is subject to severe thermal shock and damage from churning molten steel when gas is injected. Lances made of LPTEX have shown excellent resistance to these factors.

Porous Plug Systems

TYK AMERICA, INC. is a major North American supplier of Porous Plug for ladle with longer life, no clogging and stable gas blowing. TYK AMERICA, INC. is a leader in providing design and application technology as a service in support of this system. Moreover, TYK has developed new design for Slit Plug to prevent clogging assuring a stable plug life. Further to the development of new material and design, TYK can supply a gas holder as a new mechanical way to prevent clogging of the slit plug.

TYK manufactures porous plug blocks at its Large, PA. facility.

Precast Deltas

To meet more severe operating conditions, TYK AMERICA, INC. has developed new designs of precast electric furnace roof center. The use of specific designs in combination with materials of high erosion and corrosion resistances, allows to extend delta life.
